Photography connects cultures across the Commonwealth. Be part of a unique award to celebrate this in the Jubilee year. The Royal Photographic Society (RPS), in partnership with the Royal Commonwealth Society, is thrilled to announce a unique 2012 Award for the Commonwealth – the Royal Photographic Society Jubilee Award.
The RPS invites you to submit a photographic piece to the Jubilee Time Capsule (JTC) to win this special award to mark Her Majesty the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The top prize includes a trip to London, a 4 day photo essay project in London, and exhibition in your home country and London.

HOW TO ENTER

Register on the Jubilee Time Capsule website, and enter an image, or a selection of images, relating to a day in the last 60 years which has been important to you, your family, community or country.
Entrants to this special award can be of any age and from any country. The image(s) must be tied to a date from 6th February 1952 until present day and must be about one or more of the 54 Commonwealth countries. From community celebrations and local history to earth-shaking world events, no subject is too big or small!

 GUIDELINES

  • You can enter as many entries as you would like for different dates on the timeline.
  • You must submit some text to accompany the image to explain why it is relevant for the chosen date.

  • Your entry must be about a date on the timeline since 6th February 1952. The image itself does not need to have been taken on the day it relates to.

  • Runners-up will also then be notified if their image will join others for an exhibition in London in Autumn 2012.

They are looking for a photographer who wishes to expand and develop their skills and experiences in an international setting.
  • The images do not have to be directly about the Jubilee or Her Majesty the Queen.
